What is the purpose Shock Absorber KSHJ Series has been developed for ? |

In the market, speedy operations have been required for cylinders, valves and other components in the production field. High-speed operations may cause many problems due to vibrations and impacts, including shortened machine lives, damaged workpieces, loosened threads and screws, as well as not moving to next processes. Shock absorbers are needed not only for stopping cylinders smoothly but also for preventing vibrations, the damage of workpieces and the degradation of equipments. The Shock Absorber KSHJ Series developed recently is capable to protect workpieces and equipments from damages better than the conventional multi orifice type which absorbs impacts in stages, for this Series smoothly stops operations without stages due to our unique linear orifice mechanism. Our Rodless Cylinder without a rod made of steel with high strength may be damaged if large impacts are applied to it. For evaluation, KSHJ Series has undergone severe inspections with Rodless Cylinder. Needless to say, the above-mentioned technology should be used widely for various objects, and effective to soften impacts on other cylinders and workpieces. |

As you said, KSHJ Series can be used as a substitute. Of course, the conventional KSHG and KSHF Series were fabricated for the purpose of low impact from the very beginning of the development. However, the needs for high speed, high performance and low impact have increased substantially. In order to satisfy such needs, more options are available through heightened merchandising power and rich product line-up. Accordingly, Rodless Cylinder will be able to be used in new applications as well. |

What is the point to select shock absorbers for secure shock absorption ? |

The point of selection exists in how to read capacity diagrams. For your reference, the expression to calculate energy is shown on the catalog. The capacity of a shock absorber varies with speed, so that selection by using capacity diagrams is the first point. In this case, you must select a shock absorber below the capacity line, and then, the second point is to select the one as near as the relevant capacity line and still under it. Thus, the shock absorber can display its full capacity. In the capacity diagrams, the thrust of cylinders is also considered to some extent, therefore use the diagrams as they are. Even in case of low speed and light load, it would be a good choice to select "-02"type with high-speed specifications if close to such capacity line, resulting in shorter operation time and smaller impact value. In addition, as thrust is estimated to some extent, vertical impact or free fall can be managed. This selecting method would be more secure than selection through complicated calculation of equivalent load or energy formula which is not said 100percent correct. |

1.Shorter operation time: Conventional shock absorbers have longer operation time. In order to adjust time, there were, and still are, many customers who use either adjustable shock absorbers or stopper nuts or bolts. However, it is hard to control the degree of adjustment by the adjustable type, or there is the possibility of turning a knob for adjustment even if it should not be done. Stopper nuts or bolts have a disadvantage of bad space efficiency. In case of KSHJ Series, the impact value is held down, the operation time is optimized and the adjustment can be simplified. 2.Smooth shock absorption: Low impact due to linear orifice mechanism is the largest feature of KSHJ Series. Smooth shock absorption is performed from low-speed area to high-speed area. By means of linear orifice mechanism, the orifice can be changed without stages, so that the operations of KSHJ Series is quite different from the ones in stages by conventional multi orifice type. The impact value is planning to be reduced by approximately 10 to 50percent in comparison with our products. 3.Low-noise design: Low impact leads to low noise. Even without a cap, only low and short impact noise is generated, just like a good diving in the Olympic Games which makes almost no sound and no water splash. As a result, not only shock absorbers but also bearing and packings are likely to be less damaged, and along with good heat radiation capability and linear orifice mechanism scattering abrasion over the whole, the life would become longer. |

| Due to linear orifice mechanism, smooth shock absorption is gained, as shown below. This Series achieves the performance equivalent to that of shock absorber with one-size-up stroke length, and at the same time, the sound of the workpiece impact is decreased as well. |
